Web Site Comparison Chart

A good Web site design takes into consideration the general appearance and layout of pages, content organization, theme, color combination, graphics used, and loading time to make the overall browsing experience of your visitors pleasant. In general, always take into consideration the efficiency of the site in relation to your audience.

Meet with your group and suggest a popular local based Web site and write it on board. Each group shall suggest a set of criteria that will be used to evaluate the listed Web sites by writing them on the board. The set of criteria should cover the following general areas:

1. Web design with respect to user.

2. Web design with respect to graphics.

Create a similar chart like the one below. Replace the headers initially labeled as Criterion with the set of criteria to be used as agreed by the class. Add additional columns if needed. Write the name and URL of the Web site under the first column. Rate each site based on a criteria using the scale:

Add the scores and write the final score under the last column. Compare your results with your group mates and deliberate. Get the average rating of each Web site and compare your rating with the other groups. Write the rating of each group and get the overall rating of the class by getting the average from all the groups.
